"I’m Going To Kill Myself Tomorrow" by Berry Villegas
This is the painting I did of Richie Tenenbaum for the Wes Anderson Art Show at The Stardust in Orlando. I wasn’t entirely happy with the result, but then again, I only had a week to do it. If you want to see some cool stuff inspired by some cool films, the show is up for the entire month of March. Enjoy!
IN HONOR OF WES. Although it was smaller than I expected it to be, The Wes Anderson Art Show at Stardust was so awesome. There was such a beautiful variety of work - cardboard sculpture, paintings, sketches, digital, embroidery, ink. I was so happy to be a part of the show. Well done, Orlando - let’s do this again soon.
IN WES WE TRUST. If you are a massive Wes Anderson fan, like I am, and you happen to be in Orlando this weekend, check out ‘A Wes Anderson Art Show’ opening this Saturday at Stardust Video & Coffee. It’s the start of a month-long celebration of all things Wes, in anticipation of Grand Budapest Hotel’s release next week. And if the art show wasn’t enough, there will also be a kick ass Costume Tribute Party going down March 15 too! So, you better start digging up that Team Zissou wetsuit now.
And if you happen to make it to The Stardust, make sure you check out my small piece in the show - a painting of the ever-troubled Richie Tenenbaum. Should be a good time.
